The CKC (Community Knowledge Campus) Logistics Worker II
The CKC (Community Knowledge Campus) Logistic Worker II is the face of CKC, preparing Eastlink and the Community Knowledge Campus for public use with set-up and tear down of equipment and supplies. The Logistics Worker II monitors safety in the facility while maintaining the integrity of the CKC rules and guidelines. They assume responsibility as part of CKC Logistics Team for internal events, meeting and greeting user groups and main onsite contact for events, bookings and rentals.
The CKC Facility Worker II will be working with various departments and user groups, must be versatile, have an ability to problem solve and most importantly provide exceptional customer service to our guests.
Meet and collaborate with user groups and the CKC Dryland and Event Logistics Supervisor and the CKC Coordinator - Bookings to ensure all aspects are captured with each booking
Evaluate Event Plans for large-scale events, make amendments in collaboration with Supervisor. Onsite designate for User Groups and event bookings.
Takes a lead in event planning & logistics, ensuring all customer needs have been realized
Maintains weekly equipment preventative maintenance schedules
On site logistical point of contact for execution small to large-scale events, tournaments, swim meets, provincial events, etc.
Preparation of resources for internal programs & equipment requests
Responsible for last minute changes for user groups with an ability to problem solve for double bookings, missing equipment and preparedness of spaces
Provides proper and necessary equipment to patrons; and ensure equipment is inspected, maintained and stored correctly.
Facilitates birthday parties. Setting up room, greeting the guests, providing support during the party including clean up and take down afterwards
Prepares and maintains CKC Field & Grandstand for all rentals and scheduled usages, including weekly inspections of facility spaces and equipment
Ensures the CKC Field & Grandstand is prepped, opened and closed properly for regular rentals, bookings and special events.
Distribution and retrieval of FOBs and keys after rentals from the key drop off box and ensuring score clock is left in good order.
General tidying up of rental areas post rental, i.e. wipe down benches and counters, sweeping floors and communicate with custodial team what needs to be deep cleaned.
Facility and Security Support
Awareness and maintained expectation of safety in regards to facility access and egress points during shift (shovel as needed, salt as needed)
Continual training with first aid, participating in emergency situation simulations
Working Alone Components
Monitors patrons for appropriate wristbands, responds to guest inquiries and service requests.
Available as frontline support to encourage guests and members to follow appropriate facility expectations, along with guest and member engagement.
Tracks, supports and facilitates the spontaneous use areas of the facility including the (track, fieldhouse, treehouse, weight room and aquatics) ensuring guests are following the guidelines and rules while maintaining a safe play environment.
May be required to attend emergency situations and handle immediate first aid needs
Corrects any unsafe situations immediately
Perform general janitorial, housekeeping and maintenance duties
Perform other duties assigned by management

Ability to deal with conflict situations
CLASS/Perfect Mind computer program experience is an asset
Specialty training examples could be (`De-escalation of Situations', `Non Violent Crisis Intervention', Working Alone, Critical conversation training) Please see H&S available training
Building, equipment and facility maintenance specific training requirement
Aerial Lift and Fall Arrest Training is an asset

25 hr minimum position
The successful candidate will be required to work outside of traditional business hours to ensure the fulfillment of safe operation. These positions require individuals to work a range of hours. Scheduling will be dependent on the operational requirements of the facility.
$26.04/hour currently under review
Shift Premium Pay $1.50 before 6am and after 6pm & all day Sat & Sun
